Esenes Worldwide Internship

Located in Brooklyn, New York, Esenes Worldwide is a streetwear brand that specializes in footwear and accessories. During my time there I was Creative Director, Justin Son’s, right hand man where I assisted on a multitude of different projects.

Jersey Case Study:

Throughout the latter half of my internship with Esenes Worldwide I worked on a case study where I was given a major role in developing a product for the brand. This project was a massive learning experience for me as a designer, and gave me the confidence to pursue new endeavors with my own personal brand.

Product Development:

One of my responsibilities as an intern at Esenes was assisting with creating tech packs and conceptualizing products that our Creative Director had ideas for. I also assisted in creating new colorways for existing products from the brand for release, like the varsity jacket featured here. I also had the opportunity to create a unique 1 of 1 colorway for the brand’s Wildfire shoe that were made, and then sent to a special client. (featured below)

Customization:

At Esenes Worldwide we would take matters in to our own hands in house in order to elevate products, we would workshop to create a unique custom take on a product. We’d then try to create a method that would be easily repeatable, so that we could offer that customization technique the our customers for a markup on the original product. My favorite two examples of this were the airbrushed Flamesta that I did and then we created stencils so that the action was repeatable. (left) Next is the Boneheads that were hydro dipped in a real tree camo pattern, this process was more lengthy so we released a limited pre order so that we knew exactly how many pairs we needed to make. Content Creation:

Keeping up with the fast paced nature of social media marketing, and the amount of content required to stay consistent and fresh was a huge eye opener while working with Justin at Esenes. I learned that people love the process and buying into something they know the story behind. This led us to thinking out of the box when it came to things like photoshoots, customization processes as previously mentioned, and creating a a visual lifestyle for our target market to identify with.
