Tooth & Claw
My Capstone Collection consists of five original outfits all designed and constructed from scratch. This collection is inspired by my love for streetwear and outdoor wear as I attempted to blend the two using tribal and militaristic aesthetics. All five looks will be featured down below.
Presentation:
This is the slide deck for my Senior Capstone Collection Presentation in front of a panel of 6 Industry Professionals. The Presentation includes the marketing, ideation, illustrations, process photographs, and the final 5 looks.
Look #1: The Mountaineer
The first outfit in the collection features an up cycled faux fur nylon cap, as well as a handmade tee shirt with a custom heat transfer graphic. The accessories are a fleece lined ghillie scarf and a faux fur shawl that is attachable to the pants. For the bottoms, I made a pair of duck canvas double knee jeans and dyed them with coffee. Lastly styled with cowboy boots to give a little western flair.
Look #2: The Shadow
The second outfit features a faux fur tiger print tactical sweater, paired with fleece lined ghillie cargo pants with attachable pockets. The mask is constructed of a ski mask and tee shirt that was carefully draped and tacked in place in order to create a unique silhouette. Styled with black suede cowboy boots to accentuate the sharpness of the top of the look. My goal here was primarily to play with textures and introduce a silhouette that is unique to my collection.
Look #3: The Heavy
The third outfit features a jacket made from a waterproof duck canvas with hand dyed and cut patches appliquéd onto the shell of the jacket. It is also fleece lined and features quarter drop with a collar for ease to pull over and comfort. The jeans are hand crafted, featuring a branded faux leather patch on the back as well as carpenter pockets on the side seams. The bucket hat is a custom sublimated camo designed by me on a poly based fleece, featuring more leather branding and an adjustable drawstring. Styled with Doc Marten boots for any type of conditions.
Look #4: The Tracker
The fourth outfit features a fleece lined jersey knit long sleeve tee shirt that had been layered with a double faced fleece poncho that features my original camo and faux leather on garment branding on the inside. Atop the camo poncho is a fleece lined ghillie poncho to add more texture to the top of the silhouette. The bottoms are a pair of the same cut of carpenter jeans but in a lighter denim. Stylized with the look is a fleece gaiter and big cycling sunglasses to completely cover the models face for a mysterious aesthetic.
Look #5: The Thing
The fifth and final look in my collection features a handmade see through ghillie mask to really obscure the silhouette and identity of the wearer. The fur shawl layered on the shoulders features toggle closures, and the hand crafted and dyed single stitch tee shirt features an original graphic that has been heat transferred on. I chose a three quarter length sleeve for the shirt layered under the tee to play with silhouette even further. Finally, for the bottoms are a pair of baggy black fleece cargo pants, with faux leather branding to keep things simple while still keeping an exaggerated look.
